Delegation of Thammasat University (Thailand) visits RUC
RUC President Ji Baocheng met with Somkit Lertpaithoon, President of Thammasat University, and his delegation on June 2nd, 2011. The accompanying members included Niyom Rathamarit, Director of China Research Project, Wannee Samranvedhya, President administrative assistant, and Anuchat Poungsomlee, Vice President of Mahidol University.
President Somkit Lertpaithoon introduced their research in Chinese language and China studies in Thammasat University and hoped to co-establish a Confucius Institute with RUC.
President Ji Baocheng said that Asian Universities should strengthen cooperation and exchanges and RUC would welcome Thai teachers to study at the International Young Sinologists Research Center of RUC.
Both sides agreed to provide bilateral students with scholarships to conduct study and researches in the two universities for the promotion of mutual cooperation. President Ji also welcomed students from Thammasat University to participate in RUC’s International Summer School.
RUC Vice-President Yang Huilin, Executive Vice Dean of School International Studies Chen Yue, Deputy Director of International Office Shi Jiayou and other representatives also attended the meeting.
