2009 RUC Awarding Ceremony for International Students Opens

The 2009 RUC awarding ceremony for international students was held by RUC International Student Office in the Run Run Shaw Hall on Dec.17th, 2009. RUC Vice President Ms. Xue Huanbai and representatives from the Graduate School, Academic Affairs Office, Student Affairs Office, Admission and Career Guidance Office, Finance Office, University Youth League, School of Literary Studies, School of International Studies as well as Logistics Group attended the ceremony. Associate Prof. Shi Jiayou, Director of International Student office, chaired the ceremony.

In 2009, a total of 115 international students won the Beijing Government Scholarship, 68 won RUC International Student Scholarship, 3 won RUC International Student Award for Study Progress, 6 won RUC International Student Award for Outstanding Student Leadership and 4 won RUC International Student Award for Excellent Extra-curriculum Performance. This year RUC especially set two awards for excellent administrative personnel from all Schools, of which 7 people were honored with the Award for Advanced Teaching Affairs Secretary and 58 with the Award for Excellent Teaching Affairs Secretary.

RUC Vice President Ms. Xue Huanbai first delivered her congratulatory speech to all the honored international students and teaching affairs secretaries and then encouraged students to continue study hard for a better achievement in the future. She also expressed her thanks to all the teaching affairs secretaries who had always been offering kindly assistance and concern to the international students.

International student representatives, including Ms. Gao Jinfei from School of Sociology and Population Studies, Ms. Wushi Biyu from School of Literary Studies, Mr. Cao Yonghe and Ms. Kai Meili from School of International Studies, and Mr. Wu Sa from School of Law, gave their speeches respectively.

Ms. Pan Haiyan from School of International Studies delivered her speech on behalf of all the teaching affairs secretaries. She introduced the School’s work in improving the administration of international student affairs and said they would continue to do more for international students in the future.
