Delegation of Singapore Public Service Commission Visits RUC

RUC Vice-President Ms. Xue Huanbai met with Mr. Yeo Whee Jim, Director of Public Service Commission (PSC) Secretariat of Singapore, and his delegation on June 26th, 2009. The accompanying visitors included Ms. Chng Lay Theng, Assistant Director of Policy, Programmes & Events of PSC Secretariat, Ms. Patricia Lim, Senior Development Executive of PSC Secretariat, Ms. Melaine Huang Xinyi, Personnel Officer of PSC Secretariat, Ms. Cindy Chou, Director of Human Resource Division of Ministry of Trade and Industry, Ms. Fong Lai Yoke, Deputy Director of Human Resource Drectorate of Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ms. Leow Bee Kuan, Deputy Principal of Hwa Chong Institution, Mr. Tay Guan Hong, Assistant Manager of Human Resource Division of Ministry of Education, and Ms. Wang Rouqi, Manager of Human Resource Division of Ministry of Education.
Mr. Yeo Whee Jim introduced the main responsibility of Singapore PSC and “China Scholarship” Program, and hoped to deepen the understanding of Renmin University so as to select the most outstanding Singaporean students to study at RUC.
Ms. Xue Huanbai extended her warmest welcome to the delegation, and introduced the history, disciplinary uniqueness and students of Renmin University. She also answered the delegation’s questions in details on international students at RUC, collaborative programs between RUC and Singapore and Malaysian Universities as well as the International Summer School Program at RUC. Ms. Xue hoped to promote the publicity of Renmin University in Singapore and strengthen the cooperation between RUC and relevant departments of Singapore government as well as universities so as to attract more Singaporean students to study at RUC.
Mr. Zhang Guozeng, Deputy General Manager of RUC Logistical Group, Associate Prof. Shi Jiayou, Deputy Director of RUC International Office, also attended the meeting.
The delegation also toured around the RUC campus, and visited students’ dorms at the International Students Building.
