RUC Vice-President Prof. Chen Yulu met with Mr. Zhao Lixian, Director of Department of Cultural and Educational Experts of SAFEA, and Mr. Mu Jielin, Deputy Director of Department of Cultural and Educational Experts, and their delegation on June 14th, 2009. The delegation focused on researching into the implementation of “111 Project” and foreign experts’ working at Renmin University. Heads from Hanqing Advanced Institute of Economics and Finance, Department of Physics, Department of Chemistry, Human Resources Office and International Office of RUC also attended the meeting.

Vice-President Prof. Chen Yulu introduced the development of “111 Project” of the Hanqing Advanced Institute of Economics and Finance in details. He said the project has introduced some masters and many leading figures in the international finance field, which helped to promote the internationalization of RUC financial courses, especially to provide a strong support to the research on the national key projects under the global financial crisis. Renmin University is confident in achieving outstanding accomplishments in the only social science project of the “111 Project”. Prof. Chen Yulu showed his sincere gratitude to SAFEA for their support and foresight.

Director Zhao said that the emphasis of introducing foreign experts has transferred from general employment of foreign teachers to focusing on major projects for best outcome. He highly praised the achievement of RUC in the “111 Project”, and hoped that RUC’s top research of Finance could have a positive influence on the state financial policy-making.

Associate Prof. Guo Honglin, Director of RUC Human Resources Office, introduced RUC’ efforts on the international training of faculty, esp. the upcoming demand in establishing key labs for the Department of Chemistry, Department of Physics and the database of School of Information. Prof. Tang Zhong, Director of RUC International Office, put forward the limitation of the working regulations of long-term foreign experts and suggested the upper administrative department improve the treatment of foreign experts.

Prof. Liang Jing, Deputy Director of Hanqing Advanced Institute of Economics and Finance, Prof. Wang Xiaoqun, Director of Department of Physics, and Prof. Lin Jun, Deputy Director of Department of Chemistry, also introduced the detailed work respectively.
