RUC President Prof. Ji Baocheng and Senior Vice-President Prof. Yuan Wei respectively met with Dr. Alice Pell, Vice-Provost of Cornell University, on June 16th, 2009. The accompanying visitors included Ms. Duan Hong, Cornell-Peking University Program Coordinator.

President Prof. Ji Baocheng emphasized the strategic position of Cornell University in RUC’s international cooperation and introduced Renmin University’s outstanding achievement in the National Disciplinary Ranking issued by the Ministry of Education. He hoped to strengthen communications between teachers and students of the two universities, launch interdisciplinary collaboration in applied economics, labor economics and environment, and exchange teaching and research files if possible. As the Vice-Provost of Cornell University, Dr. Alice Pell said she also attached great importance to the cooperation with Renmin University, and would endeavor to promote bilateral further exchanges.

Senior Vice-President Prof. Yuan Wei overviewed the previous communications between Renmin University and Cornell University (CU), and discussed with Dr. Alice Pell the details about the Visiting Senior Manager Program and the Joint Education Ph.D Program between RUC School of Economics and CU Department of Applied Economics and Management.

Prof. Yang Ruilong, Dean of RUC School of Economics, Prof. Tang Zhong, Director of International Office, and Ms. Cheng Xin, Vice-Director of International Office, also attended the meeting.
