Rector of Saint Petersburg State University of Economics and Finance Visits RUC

RUC President Prof. Ji Baocheng met Prof. Maksimtsev Igor, Rector of Saint Petersburg State University of Economics and Finance, and his delegation on May 4th, 2009.

 

The accompanying visitors include Prof. Tarasevich Leonid, Honorary Rector, Prof. Leussky Alexander, First Vice-Rector, and other 5 people. Prof. Yang Ruilong, Dean of RUC School of Economics, Prof. Guan Xueling, and Ms. Cheng Xin, Vice-Director of RUC International Office also attended the meeting.

 

 

The delegation aimed to take this opportunity to discuss on the “Fourth Sino-Russian High-Level Economic Forum”. President Ji overviewed and highly praised the previous cooperative achievements by the two universities, hoped to enlarge the scale and influence of this year’s forum, and suggested to add the energy topic and a student forum. Rector Igor quite agreed with President Ji’s proposal, and hoped to promote the bilateral cooperation in other aspects such as joint research or joint Master programs.

 

After the meeting, the delegation visited RUC School of Economics for detailed discussion on the “Fourth Sino-Russian High-Level Economic Forum”.

 

The first “Sino-Russian High-Level Economic Forum” was held successfully by Renmin University of China and Saint Petersburg State University of Economics and Finance in 2002. Later the two universities held the forum every other year alternatively. Taking the opportunity of “Language Year” of the two countries, both sides reached a consensus in the holding of a “Pre-conference of the Fourth Sino-Russian High-Level Economic Forum” in RUC this October. One or two of the Fourth Forum’s topics will be pre-discussed in detail this October and the formal forum of a larger scale and higher level will be held in Saint Petersburg State University of Economics and Finance next May.

 

RUC School of International Studies also keeps a good and constant contact in terms of bilateral information and personnel exchanges with Petersburg State University of Economics and Finance.
