The Five Star Finance Forum organized by Hanqing Advanced Institutes of Economics and Finance (HAIEF) at Renmin University of China opened on 3^rd, June. Scholars from notable universities in Beijing got together to exchange ideas on the forefront issues on financial research.

Prof. Ji Baocheng, President of Renmin attended the forum and delivered a speech. He said HAIEF was a new teaching and research base in Renmin for improving its internationalization in economic discipline and an innovation of the traditional institution. It would give free rein to the development of the teaching and research in Economics, and push Renmin forward to the cutting-edge of economic research. As the improvement of economic research in Chinese higher education institutes, we are qualified to launch dialogue with the most prestigious universities in the world and do research on the specific problems in China. That’s exactly what the HAIEF seeks to devote.

Prof. Ji also encouraged the young scholars to make greater contribution in the financial research area.

Presided over by Xiong Wei, Dean of HAIEF and professor of Princeton University, the forum gave the platform to five scholars to reveal research results. In-depth and constructive comments were presented by experts while warm discussion was raised between authors and audiences.

Afterwards, Prof. Patrick Bolton, David Zalaznick Professor of Business in Columbia University, the representative of contract theory, made a keynote lecture.

The Five Star Finance Forum is organized by HAIEF and takes advantage of the financial research resources in five higher education institutes in Beijing. Each of the five member institutes should present a paper for discussion. The discussants invited are distinguished experts across the globe. The Five Star Finance Forum is built in the purpose to become the academic platform with international standard and promote the dialogue between domestic academic fields and international scholars.
