Prof. Cheng Tianquan, Chairman of the University Council, met with Prof. Eero Vuorio, Chancellor of Turku University, Finland on 14th April 2008.
Prof. Cheng welcomed the Turku delegation and briefly introduced Renmin to the guests. Prof. Cheng recalled the co-operation between the two universities since 1990s. And students from many schools such as school of Economics, Law, and International Studies of Renmin have been exchanges to study in Turku University.
This is Prof. Vuorio’s first time to Beijing, and he felt very pleased to visit Renmin. He said that the two universities had lots of things in common, such as focusing on graduate students cultivating and ranking top in social sciences and humanities in China and Finland respectively. He expected to exploit new collaboration areas on basis of the existing co-operation.
The delegation also visited School of Public Administration, School of International Studies, School of Journalism and Communication as well as Humanistic Olympic Studies Center.
