Prof. Feng Jun, Vice President of Renmin met with Prof. Kaoko Laitinen, Director of Confucius Institute in University of Helsinki and listened to the 2008 budget report，on April 7, 2008.

Prof Feng and the Chinese board members, Prof Tang Zhong, Director of International Office, Prof. Huang Xingtao, Deputy Dean of School of History, discussed the 2008 working plan and budget report that Prof. Laitinen proposed.

At the request of The Office of Chinese Language Council International (Hanban), the Confucius Institutes should hold annual meeting to make plans for the activities and budgets for the next year with their Chinese co-operation partners and report the plans to Hanban.

The Chinese ambassador to Finland, Ms. Ma Keqing signed co-operation agreement with University of Helsinki on behalf of Hanban, in September 2006, during which Primer Wen Jiaobao paid a visit to Finland, to build Confucius Institute in University of Helsinki. Prof. Ji Baocheng, President of Renmin attended the opening ceremony, where there have been two teachers from Renmin teaching, and the third one will take on his assignment this September.
