Prof. Feng Jun, Vice President of Renmin met with Prof. Henry C. Pinkham, Dean of Graduate School of Arts and Sciences of Columbia University in the United States on 16^th March, 2008. Mr. Cao Shihai, Director of Division of Study Abroad Affairs, China Scholarship Council, Prof. Wu Xiaoqiu, Assistant President and Executive Dean of Graduate School, Mr. Wang Qingyuan, Deputy Director of International Office attended the meeting.

Prof. Feng welcomed the guest and hoped there were chances for students of Renmin to study in Columbia.

Prof. Pinkham was very concerned about the China scholarship program. Columbia had received some Chinese government-founded graduate students in 2007. He wished to enhance the co-operation of ph.D cultivation with Chinese government and higher education institutes.

Mr. Cao introduced the main responsibilities of China Scholarship Council and the present situations of government-founded scholarship program. He expected more exchange in students and professors with Columbia.
